The Patrol Division led by Lieutenant Dan Pelkey is the uniformed and most visible presence of the Blaine Police Department. Within this division are all of the:
- Uniformed Patrol Officers
- Community Services Officers
- K-9 Unit
- Police Explorers
- Park Patrol
- Bicycle Patrol
- Police Reserve Officers
- Traffic Unit
- Anoka County’s Eastside Booking
- Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV)
As of June 2010, the Patrol Division consists of 36 sworn officers, 6 community service officers, 6 sergeants and 1 lieutenant. The division responds to 31,000 calls annually.
Blaine is very fortunate to have a committed, active and professional patrol division that responds to calls 24/7.
If you see a crime being committed, do not hesitate to call 911. We need your assistance, under reporting of crimes reinforces criminal activity, and may reduce the ability of the police to solve other crimes.
If you have any concerns or are looking for an officer to visit your Blaine group - scouts, classroom, block party, safety fair, and others throughout the year. Topics include but aren't limited to seat belt information, curfew, DUI, and law enforcement as a career. Please contact us at least two weeks in advance of your event.
